A late photo of Hobie from yesterday. He had an abscessed tooth that he had to have treated the week before last - a couple of vet visits were involved & he had to have it drained and then be on antibiotics for a week. He's fully recovered and speeding toward 20 years old. He's even gained a little weight on his new, high seafood diet variety pack.

Great re-issue of a seminal album - you can argue about the sound quality (check the Amazon reviews for extended navel gazing by high fidelity neck beard types), but this is improvement over anything other than vinyl played on a high quality system.Save Me

Caturday
Photo of Bartok taken with my old Canon AE-1 Programmable & some outdated film. Very slow shutter speed - he's not fast, but with a 1/15 shutter speed, it's tough to catch him. I've since bought an old FD 50mm f/1.4 lens, so I should be able to get some better low light shots.

Test photo from my new Canon EOS 1D Mark IV. I just got it Friday. I'm liking the image quality a lot - RAW files aren't as flat as RAW files I'm used to seeing, the color seems rich and the sensor & processor can take advantage of L lenses.

An old scanned photo of Hobie. This would have been taken in around 1992 or so, which would put Hobie at around 2 years old then. I was remodeling the house on 17th Ave. in Seattle & this was the front parlor after I'd sheetrocked, mudded, taped & painted but before I put the trim back up. So, sometime between late 1992 and late 1993. Huge project to do single handed, after work.
Anyway, Hobie was a pretty good sport during the construction. This was his favorite chair of all time. I picked it up at a yard sale for $15. It was pretty comfortable the couple of times I got to sit in it, then Hobie took it over and it spent the rest of the time I owned it being covered in cat hair.
The chair was given away or maybe sold at a yard sale when I moved to California in the Fall of 1994. Hobie's been looking for a substitute ever since, but nothing's ever quite measured up.
