I'm looking for a hotel for us for a short trip to Paris. We'll probably stay at the Hotel Saint Severin, where we've stayed before - great location (Latin Quarter just off Blvd St. Michael) + the best hotel cat ever: Isis. In looking at the hotel reviews on TripAdvisor, someone summarized French hotel management in a nutshell: the term "smoking" or "non-smoking" rooms means simply whether you're planning on smoking in the rooms. It has nothing to do with whether every person who's occupied the room since WWII smoked in the room. Rather it's a statement of your intent. If you were confused it's because you're a stupid American. However, I say that acknowledging that the last 3 times I've been to Paris, the Hotel Saint Severin is the hotel we've stayed at. It's clean, reasonably priced for Paris, perfect location plus Isis.
Bartok says if you'd just buy him a hotel HE would be the best hotel cat ever.
